No Fear In My ClassroomDescription of new work
Today's classroom has become inundated with an onslaught of fears that impede the learning environment. The teacher has personal concerns heightened to fears relating to the job because of government budgetary problems. The teacher may also actually fear certain students and an inability to provide adequate discipline in the classroom. In addition to the ageless fears of how a teacher grades, the students may also fear bullies, weapons brought into the school, cyber bullying, gangs, and much more. Add to these an overriding fear of terrorism both inside and outside the school and you have a difficult learning environment at best and a complete lack of learning at worst. |
